Parent-Teacher Communication
Teachers will need to communicate with parents about their child's academic achievements or needs. Teachers will also have to communicate to parents how their child's behavior is in school. Teachers will also need to reach out to parents when they need a chaperone for a school trip or help with organizing an event.
Parents will need to communicate with teachers to check on their child’s academic progress and their behavior in school. Parents need to know how they can help their child succeed and get involved in the school community.
Parent Involvement
Here at Holy Rosary Catholic School, we believe that parents play a huge role in the success of their children’s education. Teachers and parents are partners in this journey and good communication is key. Parents will maintain close contact and with their teachers and the school through:
Teachers will have parents sign up for Class Dojo where parents will receive photos and videos of classroom moments and they will be able to easily communicate with other parents and the teacher.

Parent Involvement Activities
Our school has many activities that parents can get involved in.
School-family communication artifacts- parents will be invited into the classroom one day of the year for Career Day. This will give teachers and students the opportunity to get to know the skills of the parents.
In the beginning of the year the teacher will send out an introduction letter to all parents introducing themselves and letting them know what their expectations throughout the year will be.
Teachers and staff are always available via teacher email and phone, and parent/teacher conferences.
Community Involvement
Write a weekly blog: this blog will highlight the school’s successes, focus on individual teachers successes, and give students recognition. It will also address what challenges the school is facing and the needs that it has. This blog will allow the community the opportunity to see what is going on within the school on a weekly basis.
Recognizing faculty of the month: each month, a special teacher will be recognized for their successes. This faculty member will be nominated and chosen by other faculty members, students and parents. They will receive recognition in the weekly blog, and a $75 gift card to their favorite restaurant. This will show our staff that they are loved and recognized by our community.

Meeting Diverse Cultures
Holy Rosary Catholic School incorporates diverse cultures by using google translate. This allows bilingual students to type in their native language and easily translate what they want to say to their teacher. This works in reverse as the the teacher can translate directions for the student. This can also benefit communication with parents because teachers are able to send an email or newsletter home to parents ini their native languages. This way both parties are able to better communicate and know what each other is saying. Google translate offers a very powerful, free, online translation tool. It can make difficult situation easier.
